OliO3 – custom-made actives: “the topical oxygen-ozone”, optimal raw material for cosmetic, cosmeceutical use and other special applications.

Oxygen-ozone boasts numerous properties that can be transferred through appropriate formulation to cosmetic and cosmeceutical products and to other specific applications. However, to get the desired benefit, we need to use an active that has the right amount of oxygen-ozone, or ozonides.

The ozonides are STABLE and determine the custom-made functionality of the raw material.

The oil used as a vehicle for the oxygen-ozone does NOT necessarily need to be hyper-ozonated but needs, rather, to be ozonated in the right amount in order to trigger what is referred to as “vaccine effect”, a reaction of the epidermal cells, that react in a natural way. The oxygen-ozone stimulates the antioxidant, cellular REDOX system helping to keep it active in the defence from the free radicals that are formed in almost all skin problems, including skin aging. In addition, the antiviral and antifungal action of the oxygen-ozone can have other, obvious prospective uses in formulations. If the amount of oxygen-ozone is not optimal, the reaction is NOT triggered. This is why some formulations do not achieve satisfactory results: it is essential to customize the “active” raw material with the right amount of ozonides to trigger the reaction, obtain the desired benefit and exploit its intrinsic properties.

OliO3 must be formulated and treated as any other natural oil, as ozonation does NOT involve significant chemical-physical transformations and can therefore be formulated straightforwardly, possibly avoiding thermal shock and high temperatures.

It should be pointed out that Castor OliO3 can also be mixed with Alcohol and with glacial acetic acid; it is slightly soluble in petroleum ether.
